Hi, I’m Aylin Yardımcı

I’m a strategic communications advisor and researcher with a Ph.D. in International Relations and Political Science from Koç University. I hold an M.Sc. in European Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

I began my career as a broadcast journalist at Medyascope, Turkey’s first independent video news platform, where I learned how to translate complex issues into narratives that engage and inform.

Later, I joined the Mayor of Istanbul’s team, shaping the city’s English-language public voice and leading international communications with a focus on purpose and precision.

Over the past decade, I’ve worked with city leaders, public institutions, and nonprofits to build trust, communicate impact, and craft strategies that resonate across borders. From global city diplomacy to grassroots philanthropy, my work sits at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and policy.

Currently, I serve as the Communications Director at the Bridge to Türkiye Fund, designing strategies that connect people and causes in meaningful ways.

As a researcher, I focus on the political economy of foreign aid, with particular interest in how emerging donors are reshaping development cooperation. My academic background, including years as a teaching and research assistant at Koç University, informs how I approach policy and communications: with rigor, curiosity, and a global perspective.

I can be contacted via Twitter/X or LinkedIn.
